Exterior repairs in Florida mean dealing with water damage, sun rot, and the occasional hurricane aftermath. We replace rotted fascia boards before they take the soffit with them, patch siding where a branch came through, fix deck boards that are spongy underfoot, and rebuild porch steps that have started to sag.

Siding work depends on what's on your house. Vinyl siding cracks in cold snaps and pulls loose in high wind. We keep a selection of common colors in the truck, but if your house is more than ten years old, the color match won't be perfect — the sun fades everything. Hardie board holds up better but costs more to replace. Wood siding needs to be primed on all six sides before it goes up, or it'll rot from the back.

If your gutters are sagging, it's usually because the fascia behind them is rotted and the hangers have nothing to grip. We fix the fascia first, then rehang the gutter.

Deck and porch repairs start with figuring out if the structure is sound. If the joists are solid and it's just the decking that's bad, we replace boards. If the framing is compromised, that's a bigger conversation. Pressure-treated lumber is code for anything in ground contact in Florida. We use joist hangers, not toe-nailing, and galvanized or stainless fasteners — regular screws rust out in two years near the coast.

Gutter cleaning and minor gutter repair fall under exterior work. If your gutters are sagging, it's usually because the fascia behind them is rotted and the hangers have nothing to grip. We fix the fascia first, then rehang the gutter. Downspouts need to drain at least six feet from the foundation or you're just moving your water problem underground.

Exterior door repairs include threshold replacement, weatherstripping, lockset installation, and fixing doors that bind or won't close properly. If the frame is out of square from settling, we shim and adjust. If the door itself is warped or rotted, we'll let you know whether it's worth repairing or if replacement is the better call.
