Plumbing Fixture Installation

Plumbing fixture installation covers replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, and showerheads on existing supply and drain lines. We don't do rough plumbing or run new lines — that requires a licensed plumber in Florida — but if the connections are already there, we can swap the fixture.

Faucet replacement is usually simple: shut off the water, disconnect the supply lines, remove the old faucet, clean the sink, install the new faucet, reconnect the lines, and test for leaks. The hard part is when the shutoff valves under the sink are corroded and won't turn, or when the old faucet nuts are rusted on. If the shutoffs don't work, we replace them — you don't want to be stuck without a working shutoff the next time you need it.

Toilet replacement takes about an hour if everything goes smoothly. We shut off the water, drain the tank and bowl, unbolt the toilet, pull it up, scrape the old wax ring off the flange, set a new wax ring, drop the new toilet, bolt it down, hook up the water, and test. If the flange is broken or the floor is rotted, that's a bigger job. We'll let you know if we find damage once the old toilet is out.

Garbage disposals get replaced when they leak or seize up. We disconnect the drain and electrical, unbolt the old disposal, install the new one, reconnect everything, and test it. If the disposal is hardwired instead of plugged in, we make sure the breaker is off before we touch the wires. If the sink drains slowly after we install the disposal, the trap or the line downstream is clogged — that's separate from the disposal install.

Showerheads and tub spouts are quick swaps. We use Teflon tape on the threads, hand-tighten, then snug with a wrench. If the pipe behind the wall spins when we try to unscrew the old fixture, we need to open the wall to hold the pipe steady. That doesn't happen often, but it does happen in older homes.

Sink installation includes undermount, drop-in, and vessel sinks. We cut the countertop if needed, set the sink, seal it, and connect the plumbing. If you're replacing a countertop at the same time, we coordinate the sink install with the countertop template and installation.
